Wellness Wednesday: Healthy Habits, Healthy Hobbies – The Benefits of Active Leisure
Thinking about healthy changes for the new year? Don’t forget the power of recreation! Active leisure improves our physical and mental health, stimulates the brain, and promotes rest. Picking up a new hobby can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! Join us to learn about the health benefits of recreation, and local resources for getting started with a new hobby, or returning to an old one.
Amy Abrams from the Grossmont Healthcare District will moderate this interactive panel presentation featuring local experts in gardening, birding, arts and crafting, and volunteer services:

- Sally Lantz Cobian, MPH (Social Activities Coordinator, Alzheimer’s San Diego)
- Katie Ruiz, MFA (Artist and Craftivist, The PomPomProject)
