Memory Café

August 1st @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

In collaboration with George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers, Inc.© a community-based organization that supports families impacted by Alzheimer’s and other memory impairment diseases, we are hosting a Memory Café Program! Memory Cafés provide a supportive environment, often described as a “meet up”, designed to engage attendees in cognitive activities to perk up memory.

The goal of the Glenner Centers’ Memory Cafés is to keep attendees mentally and socially active, which research shows is protective of brain health. These gatherings are free and open to all older adults with or without memory concerns. Please note, no care is provided at these gatherings. Anyone needing assistance must bring their own caregiver.

When: Every 1st & 3rd Thursday | 10:30 AM – 12 PM
Where: Grossmont Healthcare District’s Health & Wellness Library (9001 Wakarusa St. La Mesa, CA 91942)
Register: Call 619.825.5010, email library@grossmonthealthcare.org, or visit us in person to reserve your spot

Interested participants may call, email, or sign up in person promptly after the previous session of the class has ended. Ex. I want to sign up for Memory Café from 10:30 AM-12 PM on 8/15. We’re only adding names to our registration list after the previous session of Memory Café from 10:30 AM-12 PM on 8/1 has ended. Give us a call after 12 PM and we’ll gladly add you to our list or waitlist if all spots have been filled.

This is a GHD-sponsored program with priority given to people who live, work, attend school, or access health care services in East County. If there is space available, other community members may attend.
