Hands-only CPR & AED Skills Workshop

March 5th @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Presented by American Heart Association

Join us for a Hands-only CPR & AED Skills Workshop, along with a 30-minute presentation and discussion about the importance of these skills and their potential to help someone in cardiac arrest.

What you’ll learn: Hands-Only CPR is CPR without rescue breaths. If you see a teen or adult collapse, you can perform Hands-Only CPR with just two easy steps: 1) Call 911 and 2) Push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of the Bee Gees’ classic disco song “Stayin’ Alive.” The song is 100 beats per minute – the minimum rate you should push on the chest during Hands-Only CPR

Why attend? CPR is a psychomotor skill. The AHA continues to recommend that you take a CPR course to practice and learn the skills of CPR, including giving high-quality chest compressions. People who have had CPR training are more likely to give high-quality chest compressions and are more confident about their skills than those who have not been trained.

When: Wednesday, March 5 | 11 AM-12 PM
Where: Grossmont Healthcare District’s Conference Center Auditorium (9001 Wakarusa St. La Mesa, CA 91942)
Register: Call 619.825.5010, email library@grossmonthealthcare.org, or visit us in person to sign up. Limited spots are available.

Registration is required. This is not a CPR Certification class, but a presentation and skills demonstration. This is a GHD-sponsored program with priority given to people who live, work, attend school, or have a healthcare connection to East County. If there is space available, other community members may attend.
