The District supports healthcare education and training for the benefit of future generations. Each year, a portion of the District’s budget is allocated to local post-secondary and high school students pursuing or planning to pursue healthcare careers. Please reference our full policy here to learn more: FY 25-26 Scholarships Policy.

The application period for FY 25-26 Scholarships opens December 1, 2025, 12 AM – February 6, 2026, 11:59 PM.

Apply for a FY 25-26 Health Career Scholarship

Students in the areas of nursing, health tech careers, and behavioral health, interested in applying for a post-secondary scholarship, need to first verify their eligibility through their address, using the District map. If you are a current resident (at least 1 year), are employed (at least 2 years), or have previously graduated from a high school within the District boundaries, you meet the minimum criteria to apply for one of our post-secondary scholarships. Post-secondary applicants must only apply for one scholarship in a given year and can only be awarded that scholarship once. Click each scholarship below to learn what other criteria and supporting documentation we require.

FY 25-26 High School Scholarships Selection Process

East County high school students with expressed interest in healthcare careers from the participating 23 local schools go through a separate selection process completed by their class advisors/counselors. Students do not need to apply.

Awards Process & Ceremony Info

Post-secondary and high school scholarship winners will be voted upon and/or notified of their win in late February or early March 2026, and will be asked to participate in a joint public award ceremony, held at a Board of Directors Meeting in Spring 2026, date TBD. Students will receive their certificates, have their photos taken with the Board, and be asked to take a group photo at the end. Space is limited in our auditorium, but we encourage all awardees and their friends/family to attend.

Photo waivers will need to be completed by the students before the ceremony. Once executed, email it to info@grossmonthealthcare.org.
