The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Grossmont Healthcare District. All District governance shall be exercised by or under the direction of the Board. The Board then appropriately delegates to District officers and employees for all operations. The Board consists of five members, each a registered voter residing in the District, elected by its residents.

• Board of Directors Meetings: Every first الثلاثاء and third الخميس of the month the Board deliberates and votes on District business. If said meeting date falls on a legal holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled to the next available date. Board meetings follow the structure of Board Agendas found here.
  • Meetings are open to the public for attendance in person at GHD’s Conference Center Auditorium (9001 Wakarusa St. La Mesa, CA 91942) or via Zoom (public links available by clicking each calendar event, below).
  • Members of the public are encouraged to attend and can make formal public comment to be stated aloud or summarized at the meeting for the record (no more than 3 minutes). Participants, please make sure your microphone is muted until your time to speak. Public comments will be addressed during meetings at their appropriate time, per the agenda, in one of three ways:
    • 1) In person: Fill out a request to speak form (available in the GHD auditorium) and deliver it to the Board secretary before the meeting begins.
    • 2) Via Zoom: At the start of the meeting, submit a comment in the meeting chat that includes: your name (optional), organization (if applicable), and whether you are a resident of the District (Ex: My name is Joey Doe, President of East County Organization, and I live in La Mesa. I’d like to make public comment regarding item 4a on the agenda). Wait for your request to be recognized, unmute your microphone, and make your comment(s).
    • 3) Submit in advance: To have your comment read aloud or summarized in advance of the meeting, use the form provided at the bottom of this page. Comments must be received at least two hours prior to the start of the Board meeting.
• Committee Meetings: Two Board members sit on each committee, rotating assignments every calendar year. Committee meetings are open to the public, for officers and Board members to discuss recommendations on District business that are presented during Board of Directors Meetings.
• Special Meetings: Special meetings are also open to the public and are typically called for the deliberation of time-sensitive decisions.
