The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Grossmont Healthcare District. All District governance shall be exercised by or under the direction of the Board. The Board then appropriately delegates its powers and authority to officers and employees. There are five publicly elected Board members, each a registered voter residing in one of the five designated zones within the District.
The Board of Directors holds regular meetings open to the public, every 1st Martes and 3rd Jueves of the month, at 9 AM. Check the calendar below to verify any changes or cancellations.

Randy Lenac

Randy Lenac, con experiencia en gestión ejecutiva en administración, finanzas, desarrollo de programas y estrategia, se incorporó al consejo de GHD en julio de 2014 para cubrir una vacante y posteriormente fue elegido para un mandato de cuatro años en noviembre de 2014 y de nuevo en 2018. Sirvió en el Cuerpo de Marines de Estados Unidos de 1975 a 2002, retirándose como teniente coronel. Tras su carrera militar, se dedicó a la atención sanitaria como ejecutivo en el Southern Indian Health Council de Alpine. Desde 2011, ha formado parte de la junta de Grossmont Hospital Corporation (GHC), una entidad sin ánimo de lucro que supervisa la gestión y el funcionamiento de Grossmont Hospital en virtud de un contrato de arrendamiento con Sharp HealthCare. Maggie T. Watkins

Maggie T. Watkins is celebrated for her exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to not-for-profit board governance. She has a distinguished legacy of contributing her expertise to over 40 not-for-profit boards, including prominent organizations such as Susan G. Komen, the Alzheimer’s Association (as Chapter Chair), Girl Scouts San Diego, Vista Hill, Peninsula YMCA (as Board Chair), Project Concern International, Leadership California, LEAD San Diego, Leadership California, and the Corporate Directors Forum. Currently, she is a board member of the Sharp Grossmont Foundation, Sharp HealthCare Foundation (where she chairs the Stewardship Committee), and the San Diego Salvation Army Metropolitan Board.
Professionally, Watkins has an impressive track record, having served as Chief Marketing Officer for four Am Law 200 law firms, CMO of a global publicly traded expert services and consulting firm, and President and CEO of an international law firm association. Recently, she launched her own professional services marketing and business development consultancy. Watkins is distinguished by her expertise in the three pillars of revenue generation: marketing, business development, and communications.
With over 25 years of experience in supporting revenue generation for professional services firms, Watkins is highly regarded as a thought leader whose strategic and innovative approaches deliver outstanding financial results. She is known for her upbeat, energetic, and polished communication style, and her collaborative and motivational leadership is deeply valued by her teams and colleagues. She shares her expertise and knowledge as a regular speaker at industry conferences and seminars.
Watkins has received numerous accolades including the 2024 Corporate Director’s Forum Director of the Year Award for Lifetime Achievement in Not-for-Profit Leadership—the first ever recipient of this honor. She was named one of the San Diego Business Journal’s 500 Most Influential Leaders (2024) and recognized as the 2025 Woman of the Year for California’s 40th Senate District. These accolades reflect her enduring impact and unwavering dedication to community, governance, and visionary leadership.

Nadia Farjood, J.D.

Raised in San Diego, and the daughter of a nutritionist and an immigrant engineer, Nadia is a mom, an attorney, and a community advocate committed to improving community health across East County. She was elected to the Grossmont Healthcare District Board of Directors in 2024.
Experienced in healthcare law, Nadia has advised hospitals on regulations and investigated allegations of misconduct in the clinical health setting. Nadia has focused on protecting patients from high healthcare costs in the emergency room where they are most vulnerable. She is passionate about providing high-quality healthcare that is affordable and accessible to everyone.
Devoted to public service, Nadia has served on the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. She has also served on the boards of the San Diego Women’s Foundation, the Jewish Family Service of San Diego, and the Tariq Khamisa Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to creating safer schools and communities. Civically active, Nadia is a member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego and the San Diego chapter of the League of Women Voters. She has also clerked for the U.S. District Court in California, supporting the court’s work during the pandemic.
A graduate of San Diego public schools, Nadia also graduated from Harvard College (where she studied Government and Neurobiology) and Harvard Law School.
Nadia lives with her husband, Raul Campillo, their son, Rafael, and their dog, Jojo. You can find them hiking at the Mission Trails Regional Park, enjoying Lake Murray, and cheering on the Padres and the San Diego Wave.

Virginia Hall, RN

Virginia Hall, enfermera titulada jubilada, fue elegida miembro de la Junta en noviembre de 2016, ocupando el primer puesto entre seis candidatos. Graduada en enfermería por el Grossmont College (1978), Virginia trabajó en el sector sanitario de 1973 a 2004. Su experiencia en enfermería incluye el trabajo en varios hospitales locales, salas de emergencia, clínicas y centros de investigación. Ha participado en comités de investigación, ha presentado ponencias en varios congresos nacionales de enfermería y ha publicado artículos en revistas médicas. Robert "Bob" Ayres

Robert “Bob” Ayres is a retired banking executive with 48 years of experience in both public and private-sector banking, construction financing, and court-appointed receiverships. He joined the GHD board in Septiembre 2010 to fill a vacancy and was then elected to three four-year terms in 2012, 2016, and 2020. He currently serves on the GHD Board, as chair of the Finance Committee for the Grossmont Hospital Corporation, and is a member of the Finance Committees for Sharp HealthCare. Prior to joining the Board, Ayres served on the GHD Proposition G Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (ICBOC), which oversees the District’s $247 million bond measure approved by voters to modernize Grossmont Hospital. He is a resident of El Cajon and is a graduate of San Diego State University and Southern Methodist University’s Graduate School of Banking. Bob and his wife Elaine have been married since 1966, and have two daughters and two grandchildren.
