DESCRIPTION:As the country’s leading champion of lung health\, the American Lung Association puts the well-being and health of our community first and foremost. We have been closely monitoring the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19)\, following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)\, the World Health Organization (WHO)\, state and local health departments and our medical experts throughout this emerging public health situation. We are working to minimize the risk to all\, especially those with lung disease or an impaired immune system. With that in mind\, we are taking extra measures to adapt our mission delivery to a temporary virtual platform. \nThe first three modules of the training are available online on-demand and must be completed prior to the 3-hour live web-based Facilitator Skill Builder Workshop: \n\nModule 1: Tobacco Basics (60 minutes)\nModule 2: How to Help People Quit (60 minutes)\nModule 3: Freedom From Smoking Facilitator Training (3 hours)\n\nThe three-hour live web-based Facilitator Skill Builder Workshop will take place on January 26\, 2022 as a Virtual Training from Webinar\, Online. \nRegistration is required to attend. Space is limited. Cost to participate in the training is $400\, which includes a 3-year Freedom From Smoking® Facilitator certification. \nBy completing the Freedom From Smoking® Facilitator Training program\, you are helping to make a positive impact in your community. DESCRIPTION:The virtual Asthma Educator Institute™ (AEI) is a three half-day preparatory course for individuals that want to implement asthma guidelines-based care and those qualified to take the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) examination. The AEI was developed with experts in the field with asthma and it reflects the National Institutes of Health\, 2020 Focused Updates to the Asthma Management Guidelines and the Expert Panel Report 3: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma. \nAEI is a professional education course that targets frontline healthcare professionals\, such as: nurses\, nurse practitioners\, respiratory therapists\, physicians\, physician assistants\, pharmacists\, other licensed or credentialed healthcare professionals\, and educators with 1000+ direct hours of asthma education eligible to sit for the national asthma certification exam. Also\, the course is a great refresher for AE-C’s preparing for recertification. \nThe curriculum aligns with the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) Candidate Handbook and includes case reviews\, hands-on skills demonstrations\, and practice. \nNote: This program is designed as a prep course for the NAECB Exam\, but there is no requirement that participants sign up for the exam after completing the course. Any professional interested in gaining better skills and understanding of asthma self-management and implementing asthma guidelines-based care would benefit from this training. \nThe upcoming Asthma Educator Institute will be held virtually in a live-stream format. This event will be hosted in the Central time zone.

SUMMARY:Asthma Educator Institute
DESCRIPTION:The virtual Asthma Educator Institute™ (AEI) is a three half-day preparatory course for individuals that want to implement asthma guidelines-based care and those qualified to take the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) examination. The AEI was developed with experts in the field with asthma and it reflects the National Institutes of Health\, 2020 Focused Updates to the Asthma Management Guidelines and the Expert Panel Report 3: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma. \nAEI is a professional education course that targets frontline healthcare professionals\, such as: nurses\, nurse practitioners\, respiratory therapists\, physicians\, physician assistants\, pharmacists\, other licensed or credentialed healthcare professionals\, and educators with 1000+ direct hours of asthma education eligible to sit for the national asthma certification exam. Also\, the course is a great refresher for AE-C’s preparing for recertification. \nThe curriculum aligns with the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) Candidate Handbook and includes case reviews\, hands-on skills demonstrations\, and practice. \nNote: This program is designed as a prep course for the NAECB Exam\, but there is no requirement that participants sign up for the exam after completing the course. Any professional interested in gaining better skills and understanding of asthma self-management and implementing asthma guidelines-based care would benefit from this training. \nThe upcoming Asthma Educator Institute will be held virtually in a live-stream format. This event will be hosted in the Central time zone.

DESCRIPTION:Chair Yoga\nwith Instructor Jackie Gadd \nJackie Gadd has been teaching yoga since 2007. She sees it as both a mind/body integration practice for inner peace\, and a functional movement practice for every body’s health. \nSet in the lovely Butterfly Amphitheater at the heart of the garden\, these adaptive accessible sessions aim for good stretch\, a bit of a workout\, and some valuable mind-quiet time. The classes are gentle\, and combine both chair and standing postures to provide what the class needs on any given day: flexibility\, muscular strength\, range of motion\, agility\, vitality\, balance/coordation. Mindful meditation topics help reinforce that ever important connection between body and mind. Bring your own mat (chairs and props provided)\, something for hydration\, and bundle up in layers for outdoor weather. \nGarden Members do NOT need to register online. Please sign in upon arrival.
