DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Sabrina Falquier\, MD\, CCMS\nBoard Certified Internal Medicine and Culinary Medicine Physician\n\nCulinary medicine blends the art of food with the science of medicine\, and in this presentation\, Dr. Falquier will focus on how to achieve better health and well-being through nutritional knowledge and culinary literacy. In 2016 she began incorporating culinary medicine into her practice and the community and in 2020 founded Sensations Salud\, which focuses on awakening the senses around ingredient acquisition and food preparation while empowering people to better health through nutritional knowledge and culinary literacy. She is also a clinical professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science\, UC San Diego Health Sciences\, and an adjunct professor at Bastyr University. She is highly involved with Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center in National City. It is a multi-sensory\, therapeutic oil painting program that has had far reaching results for more than 20 years. Participants learn to see like the masters and create their own oil on canvas in a joyful environment. \nAvailable for eight participants\, this program combines the meditative experience of being present with the joy of expression via art.
