DESCRIPTION:AudAbility™ is an evidence-based program designed by board-certified music therapists at MusicWorx to support people living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. Through music therapy and wellness approaches\, we empower individuals to cultivate greater quality of life. AudAbility™ participants engage in music-based interventions including singing\, movement\, instrument play\, songwriting\, and mindfulness. We can help participants improve and maintain critical functions such as speech\, swallowing\, breath capacity\, fine & gross motor skills\, and cognition. We also support social-emotional needs\, and use music therapy to alleviate depression\, anxiety\, and isolation. No music experience is needed to participate! \n\n\nAbout: This program is 12-week session cohort. DESCRIPTION:Go on a Virtual Reality Adventure at the GHD Health & Wellness Library! Using Virtual Reality (VR) technology\, transport yourself to a variety of visually stunning & mentally stimulating environments. Take a walk along the beach\, explore an art museum\, or travel around the world\, without leaving the comfort of the Library. VR technology is used as a tool to cue memories\, stimulate the brain\, and provide positive experiences to support overall mental health. \nParticipants will put on a VR headset (30-minute sessions)\, which completely covers the eyes and immerses the wearer in a 360-degree digital reality to be seen through the lenses of the headset. The headset detects head movement\, allowing the user to be fully immersed in the experience. Simply move the head left or right to discover the surroundings! DESCRIPTION:AudAbility™ is an evidence-based program designed by board-certified music therapists at MusicWorx to support people living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. Through music therapy and wellness approaches\, we empower individuals to cultivate greater quality of life. AudAbility™ participants engage in music-based interventions including singing\, movement\, instrument play\, songwriting\, and mindfulness. We can help participants improve and maintain critical functions such as speech\, swallowing\, breath capacity\, fine & gross motor skills\, and cognition. We also support social-emotional needs\, and use music therapy to alleviate depression\, anxiety\, and isolation. No music experience is needed to participate! \n\n\nAbout: This program is 12-week session cohort. DESCRIPTION:Fitness Forever Club is geared towards older adults and seniors to improve their ability to do tasks of daily living and prevent falls. This program will focus on coordination\, agility\, mobility\, strength\, and balance in a fun and safe environment. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers\, Inc.© a community-based organization that supports families impacted by Alzheimer’s and other memory impairment diseases\, we are hosting a Memory Café Program! Memory Cafés provide a supportive environment\, often described as a “meet up”\, designed to engage attendees in cognitive activities to perk up memory. \nThe goal of the Glenner Centers’ Memory Cafés is to keep attendees mentally and socially active\, which research shows is protective of brain health. These gatherings are free and open to all older adults with or without memory concerns. Please note\, no care is provided at these gatherings. SUMMARY:AudAbility™- Music Therapy for People Living with Parkinson's Disease
DESCRIPTION:AudAbility™ is an evidence-based program designed by board-certified music therapists at MusicWorx to support people living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. Through music therapy and wellness approaches\, we empower individuals to cultivate greater quality of life. AudAbility™ participants engage in music-based interventions including singing\, movement\, instrument play\, songwriting\, and mindfulness. We can help participants improve and maintain critical functions such as speech\, swallowing\, breath capacity\, fine & gross motor skills\, and cognition. We also support social-emotional needs\, and use music therapy to alleviate depression\, anxiety\, and isolation. No music experience is needed to participate! \n\n\nAbout: This program is 12-week session cohort. DESCRIPTION:Go on a Virtual Reality Adventure at the GHD Health & Wellness Library! Using Virtual Reality (VR) technology\, transport yourself to a variety of visually stunning & mentally stimulating environments. Take a walk along the beach\, explore an art museum\, or travel around the world\, without leaving the comfort of the Library. VR technology is used as a tool to cue memories\, stimulate the brain\, and provide positive experiences to support overall mental health. \nParticipants will put on a VR headset (30-minute sessions)\, which completely covers the eyes and immerses the wearer in a 360-degree digital reality to be seen through the lenses of the headset. The headset detects head movement\, allowing the user to be fully immersed in the experience. Simply move the head left or right to discover the surroundings!
