James Stieringer served on the Grossmont Healthcare District Board of Directors from 1992-2010.
A Grossmont High School graduate, he served as a captain in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran.
During his tenure on the Board, he was instrumental in the development of the District grants program and the passage and implementation of the 2006 Proposition G Hospital Facility improvements.
In recognition of his significant contributions to Residents of the District, in 2010 he was named a Director Emeritus and the District Conference Center was named in his honor.
A retired defense contractor consultant, Jim and his wife Betty reside in La Mesa.
