News from the Grossmont Healthcare District
La Mesa resident Barry Jantz, chief executive officer of the Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD), has been appointed to the San Diego County Taxpayers Association (SDCTA) board of directors. The appointment was recently approved by the GHD board of directors after the SDCTA board voted to approve Jantz’ membership. He has been assigned to serve on SDCTA’s Issues Committee and Healthcare Committee, according to Lani Lutar, SDCTA president/CEO.
Jantz, who joined GHD as CEO in 2004, served as a member of the La Mesa City Council for four terms from 1990 to 2006. He did not seek re-election in the November 2006 general election. Prior to joining GHD on a full-time basis, he served as chief of staff to former Assemblyman Jay La Suer, R-La Mesa, and as a public affairs consultant. He previously worked for 18 years in the Facilities Development Department for Kaiser Permanente, including three years as financial manager. Jantz remains active in politics as a blog contributor to www.flashreport.org with observations on local, state and national issues and developments.
