Kathy Quinn, with 15 years of experience as a business librarian in the information industry, has been selected as library director of the Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library in La Mesa, a public library specializing in healthcare information. The announcement was made by Dr. John Hardebeck, 2007 president of the board of directors, Grossmont Healthcare District, which is a public agency that operates the library. Quinn succeeds Judith Kammerer, who served as library director for four years before relocating to Fresno, Calif.
Prior to her selection as library director, Quinn served as senior information manager with Plaza Investment Mangers, a subsidiary of Geico Corp. During her career, she has worked on a variety of research, financial information and training projects in various corporate settings as a manager, project leader, research specialist and training consultant with Dialog Corp., Arthur Andersen LLP, ABN AMRO North America Inc., and Accenture Ltd.
A native of Evanston, Ill., Quinn has a master’s degree in library and information science from Dominican University in River Forest, Ill., and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish language and literature from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. She has resided in La Mesa since 2002.
