Through sponsorship and partnership, GHD provided a variety of health screenings at 2016 Kids Care Fest, including nearly 130 vision screenings, over 100 dental screenings and dozens of children’s wellness checkups. Additional health services offered at this year’s event included free flu and Tdap shots; nearly 60 flu shots were provided to both children and adults.  The event also featured and provided information to hundreds of community members from dermatologists, pharmacists and other medical professionals, as well as free kids fingerprinting and children’s books. Additional free activities included rock climbing, inflatable obstacle course and pony rides, along with demonstrations and displays from law enforcement, including police and fire officials.

Healthcare partners supporting 2016 Kids Care Fest included Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Rady Children’s Hospital, Borrego Community Health Foundation, University of California at San Diego Eye Mobile for Children, La Maestra Community Health Centers, Family Health Centers of San Diego, Champions for Health, Neighborhood Healthcare and the County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency’s East Region El Cajon Family Resource Center.
